Hi all, i went for it, i got it, i am loving it :D

The exact card is an XFX GTX 285 XXX factory overclocked currently at:

670 / 1250 / 1576

Every game i now play as at least double in performance below is my spec now followed by the games i play with settings and fps results of the new card vs old:

Spec:

XFX 780i MOBO
Intel Q9550 @ 2.83GHz (it will be going back up to 3.3 at least)
4 gig OCZX DDR2 RAM
Coolermaster 700W Modular PSU
XFX GTX 285 XXX 1gig
Antec 900

Below are my current gaming scores (FPS) with every thing running at stock speeds (the old cards were running with an 3.3GHz cpu):

GTA 4 - Now completely maxed out 100% @ 1680 x 1050

New Card
Average FPS (Day) 35 fps, Min FPS 25, Max FPS 69 ~ at night my average fps is 30

Old Cards
Average fos (Day) 22fps, Min FPS 15, Max FPS 45 ~ at night my average fps was 28

GRID - Now completely maxed out 100% @ 1680 x 1050

New Card
Average fps 70, min 55, max 92

Old Cards
Average fps 30, min 22, max 40

COD 4 - Maxed at 1680 x 1050

New Card
Average 245FPS, Max FPS 250, Min FPS 190

OLD Cards
Take at least 100 off the above fps for COD4

Crysis Warhead - Maxed out with Gamer shaders with 16xAA,QA @ 1680 x 1050

New Card
Average 32FPS, Min FPS 20, Max FPS 45 (this is at deep jungle levels by the ea your getting an extra 10fps at least)

Old Cards
At the same settings as abobe, was crap :)

FC2 - Maxed out 100% with full AA DX10

New Card
Average FPS 45, Max FPS 75 to 80, Min FPS 33FPS

Old Cards
Average FPS 22, Max 33 FPS, Min 2.9FPS

The card overall is a monster and has doubled my performance in top or the range games and in others has trippled this is withthe cpu back to normal speed too, pushinghte cpu back up to 3.3 at least i expect another 10FPS at least put on all the figures above.

The running temps of this card with stock fan speed are 52 idle and 80 max just from gaming this can easily be reduced with a slight increase of fan speed.

Fitting the fan in the antec 900 is easy once you take the internet fan mounting out that sits above hte HDD drive bays.

Overall i would recomend this card to anyone wanting to move away from 8800 GTS G92 SLI its worth every penny and as i am now selling my old cards, consider it even more of a deal.

Iel add in game screenshots throughout the week for proof towards the above figures and hope this info is useful to people cos i couldn't find any stats or realiable info looking arround, many people said it would be a waste and i would get no difference, well the figures show different :p

thanks for ur help guys, screenshots will be uploaded later :D

nice mini review and i bet you can get way better frames if you oc the cpu more....at that res your bottlenecked by your cpu not gpu with that cpu and a decent cooler id shoot for 4.0 ;)
