~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Again, Thanks for taking the time to allow me to interview you.
When did you join the Team? Approximate date is ok if you don't know the specific date.
I started folding for T32 somewhere in 2004
If there was something recent that you did that you wanted your fellow teammembers to know about, what would it be?
I lost my mother to cancer in march of this year, which is a pretty strong motive to keep folding
What is your EOC (extremeoverclockers) stats link?
EOC - It seems bugged - i dont havy many rigs folding but at least they shouldve gotten me some points the past time
You do not have to give specifics (address), but what State do you live in, and if you don't mind telling, what town? (town is not required, but if not a town, a general direction and distance from the nearest 'big town/city' would suffice)
I live in the netherlands, in the small town of Herwen, close to Arnhem which you all should known something about
How did you initially hear about F@H?
Don't really remember..i think a forum friend of mine, Jimbob (scott) told me install it
After starting, why do you continue to Fold?
First it was for the point kick, later for the team and now for my mother
What do you do for a living?
I'm 19, still at school, studying bioinformatics (which is also the reason i know a great deal about proteins and their functions)
What do you do for fun?
I hang around with this one special girl, Loes...play pc games (BF2 / eve online) go out, dance, do some fitness training and i cycle alot. I also enjoy reading and movies..ofc all in english and without subtitles
Is there anything special you do in your spare time that you really enjoy?
To go the cheesy route, spending time with Loes is #1
Time to spill your guts. What are the stats of your main folding rig? Why is it your fave? What all do you use the rig for?
It's a dothan machine i built just over a year ago and it still pleases me in every way - 2.6 Ghz, 2GB BH5, x800XT. Sufficient for almost everything. Unfortunatly i cant have it running 24/7 due to family limitations, so the folding time is limited.
Do you have a Borg-Farm? If so, how many computers, and what are they? (CPU, RAM)
My laptop has F@H installed as well, yet is quite slow and can take weeks to finish a task. I've tried asking permission to borg the IT rooms on my former and current school but no successes so far
What are your future goals? What do you most want to accomplish with your life?
I have absolutely no idea. For the moment, im happy and busy. Dont really care what comes after, but im looking to move into a small (30 - 40m3) apartment in about 2 - 3 months
If there is something you want to tell the team, then spill your guts! What have I missed in my questions that could help the team learn more about you and who you are?
Ive said it numerous times after the pasing of my mother..OCF is the only place that really keeps me coming back! (on the internet, that is)
- I found one picture of reasonable age:
Good to meet you sjaak. Sorry about your mother, I kind of know what you are going through. I lost mine in september and I sometimes want to call her on the phone before reality kicks in.
You actually measure living space in cubic volumn? Here (USA) its in floor area. If I'm correct that like a 10x12 to 12x15 in english feet or in our terms an efficiency suite .
Fold on!
Literally, the merging of biology and informatics. We process lab test results, write our own programs to visualise and calculate stuff. Most of what we did so far has been about genetics. (DNA, mutations, reproduction etc.)
