Monitor/Video Card not showing startuo

Alright the last two motherboards I have had with my aiw radeon 8500 dv wont show the startup screen. Im currently using a a7n8x. My monitor is a planar 1700 model. Im not exactly sure why it wont and poses problems when i want to overclock and go into the bios. Anyhelp is appreciated, thanks.

Questions:

-Does your system POST?
-Can you see the system POST on screen?
-Can you see the loading windows screen?

Suggestions:

-Swap monitors with another one in the house.
-Plug your AIW into your TV. Out signal may perhaps be getting sent to TV OUT.
-Try swapping video cards to rule out any monitor problems.
-Try running in safe mode to rule out or limit driver problems.
-If your system isn't posting, try resetting the CMOS.

My system is actually posting but I cant see any of it on the screen when im using DVI. I dont see the windows startup either, only when it goes into windows so i start seeing things. I would try and swap around but i dont have any other DVI monitors.
Any ideas with my specific monitor or anything?
