Unknown ALDI 17-inch monitor for $99 if they still have em

Unknown Specs

The reason I ask is because I'm "borrowing" my parents old 17-inch Samsung. It's about 5 years old, but has been the best monitor I have ever used. They need it back because my younger brother inheritied the Compaq that it was purchased with, so I have to return it.

I have a 15-inch el-cheapo- CTX monitor that was used by the local high school, sold (or thrown out), repaired by a resident, and sold at a garage sale for $20. Good deal. It's been a nice monitor, but it's old and small, and has too much of a beige tint to it. Its good for a folding rig, but definately not a gaming monitor.

I just found out that the deductible for the wreck I was in is only $250 (compared to $500 which I thought it was), so I consider that a blessing! I now have $250 that I thought I wouldnt have.

Anyway- what would you choose. And should I pay the $$$ for the stupid BB warranty ($50 i think)?

EDIT: Hmm... looks like [IMG] tags have been disabled in this forum... oh well... click on links for pictures.

Yeah, you dont know what being my brother means.

He offered me the monitor just to make me want it. I already know he won't let me buy it from him, so that's out of the question LOL. He just did that to make me jealous of his monitor, because he's on this kick about his stuff always being better than mine.

Anyway, he's an ass, and only offered me the monitor so he could take back his offer and get me ticked off. He's mad because his computer sucks so bad, and mine is the only one in the house that actually works like it's supposed to, and is almost twice as fast.

Those two monitors are incredibly similar. The only difference is that the Mitsubishi uses an AG tube, while the MAG has a PerfectFlat tube. I would go with the AG tube; I've heard nothing but good things about those.

Hmm... looks like they are all beige except for a non-flat 17inch black KDS.

It's a good deal, but my case is black, and I kind of wanted it all to match.

i just got a 19inch xf-9b kds monitor at wal-mart yesterday. was looking at the NEC ms97f at staples, i wanted something local rather than ordering online... mostly cuz i wanted it YESTERDAY. so i was going to grab the NEC from staples. but hey hey.. they keep it on display but do NOT stock it. how nice.. so 1 buisness day to order. I think... well.. i can go over to wal-mart and walk out with the KDS and if it sucks wally world will give me no headach about bringing it back. well the image is just lovely. no wierdness in the corners, perfect flat screen. does 85hz at 1280X1024! 100hz @ 1024X768, vera vera nice. I'm happy so far .

J.

oh yah, it is black with a silver front bezel.

I stuck with a nice Mitsubishi Diamondtron (trinitron) SB70. Flat CRT, very crisp and bright. Best monitor ever!
