TV as moniter
I thought about it and it would work out cheaper for me to buy a big widescreen tv instead of using a moniter...but how good would the quality be, i heard about using dvi-scart lead as a way of connecting the tv to my pc. How would this inpact on the quality? does it sound like it would work? has anyone else done it? would anyone recommend it?

When I used a TV to play my games, I found the refresh rate was not good enogh and the text was really fuzzy! Dont think you would be able to do it!! Dont know what ever one else thinks? Newer TVs may have a faster refresh rate?

I think the only way you could get the view to improve would to have a High Definition TV. Or you could get a nice LCD with a TV tuner built in, but to my knowledge there is no way to improve the view of a standard tv screen. I guess that is one reason why webTV and such services died out.

Get a HD/Plasma/LCD/Digital TV, and it will be a lot clearer. Normal TV CRT's SUCK REALLY BAD. The refresh rate is pitiful, and everything looks nasty. I've tried it before. A better option is to buy a TV tuner (you can get a cheap one for like $50 at newegg), and watch TV on your monitor. Monitor quality is "A+" when compared to TV quality. I would rate TV quality at a "D" at best. |

Yep, me too. When I hooked my computer up to my TV, it was horrible. I couldn't read any text whatsoever, and playing games sucked b/c the refresh rate was crap. Maybe it would be better with a HI-DEF tv, but still, I'd stick with a monitor for now.

you should be OK if you get a tv with hi def and 100hhz refresh rate, the new sony ones are ideal, but i would rather spend the cash on a digital projector myself.......
