LCD on DigiCam

Hey all!
Well I just picked up a Canon Powershot A60 this past week and let me tell you, I LOVE IT. It's the greatest camera I've ever used. Every feature I could ever want :-)
Anyway, I've been carrying it around in my pocket because I had a couple of school trips this week and wanted to take some pics. Well I was looking at the camera today while it was sitting on my desk and I noticed that there are some tiny scratches on the LCD. I think that they are actually on a plastic layer above the LCD and they aren't noticeable with the LCD on, but I was just wondering if there is anyway to get these out just in case they get worse in the future. I didn't know if maybe something similar to those CD/DVD repair kits would work or if I should just forget about it. Like I said, it's not a huge deal right now, but I imagine that as time goes on, I'm only going to get more scratches and I just wanna know what my options are.

They have maskers that you can use but nothing takes it away completely.

How man MP is the A60? I just (20 days ago) got a A70, and love it's 3.2MP goodness

Great pics. 128MB of CF is barely enought tho..

The A60 is the A70's little 2MP brother. Canon always releases the powershot A series in pairs. The A60 and A70 are the newest ones and were just release in Febtober

I seriously love this camera too. I never do anything bigger than 5x7's and the cameras 2MP's seems to have that more than covered. Also, having full manual mode is nice. The other night I was at my sister's dance recital and had to take a bunch of quick shots without wasting time for the camera to autofocus (even though this thing is damn fasted at autofocusing compared to other digicams) So I set it to full manual mode, got just the right shutter speed, aperature and focal length and then went to town taking pics like a pro while the poor people around me were only getting one or two blurred shots with their $500+ digicams.
Anyway, i'm glad you like your A70. If I had had more cash at the time, I would have certainly gone for it, but based on my budget and needs, the A60 is doing just great!

Also, how many pics do you take at a time? On the highest settings, I can fit around 140-150 pics on my 128MB CF Card

Check eBay and see if there are any sellers who have screen protectors for your model cam. I have a A40 and had a couple of scratches show up and purchased some protectors from this person.

Its basically a clear adhesive backed vinyl plastic cover for the screen. It even masked the scratches I did have and doesn't distort the LCD image.

Also, check either eBay or your local camera shop for the Canon carry bag for the A70. I also got mine off eBay for my A40. Fits the camera perfectly and also has a small pocket to store an extra set of batteries and CF card. Not too expensive either and pretty well made.

I've searched around and can't find any products for the A60. However, after a bit I did find one for the A70 and I'm fairly sure that they would use the exact same protector. I found them at purplemoo.com for $6.50 for 6 protectors.
Also, I bought a camera bag that was large enough for me to keep my camera and both CF cards comfortably and it has a belt clip so I can carry it that way. I don't worry too much about batteries cause I got some high power NiMH's and I've yet to drain a set before I had a chance to swap them so I don't ever carry extra batteries. I got the bag at walmart because it was a lot cheaper than the Canon bag.
What I want to know is, why don't they put a more scratch resistant plastic on the camera to begin with?
