is my trinitron crapping out on me?

ive had my 19" dell dist. sony trinitron p991 for about 3 years. starting about 3 days ago it started "popping" in and out of focus. it makes this gay loud popping noise and flickers, comes up blurry, then after a minute or so, does it again and comes up clear. is there anything i can to do fix it, or should i go get a new monitor.

Sounds like it might be overheating...try sticking a small fan over the back of it to help cool it down...I have a small little 9" fan clipped on the back of my desk, aimed down towards the back cooling holes, to help keep the monitor cool...
