Digital Pics from video camera...?

hey all...

WEll i WAS going to get a digital cameral...then it dawned on me... i have a VERY nice Video camera that i hook up to the pc to copy vids on my HDD regularly... is there some sort of prog i can use to capture stills of the video??? cause... when i use print screen or
ANY other type of capturing...

I see nothing when i actually move it into something like a new file... it turns up black!

any comments appriciated.. thanks

Whatever program your using to capture video is useing video overlays. When you hit print screen, you wont get the image, but the background that the image is overlayed over. Not sure what you do to get around that. But the effective resolution of a analog NTSC signal is only around 720x480. It may sound like alot, but the signal from most NTSC devices is very poor and will result in very low grade images. Not only that, but at 480 lines you will also run into the problem of having to deinterlace the signal so you dont get the edge combing effect.

what are you using for your video capture, if it's one of the Wintv products it should have a freeze capture function in the software.

Ugh... dawned on me a min ago...

Welll i dont use the leadtek for vid editing...yet!....

i have a diff comp that i used a little RCA connector there... and thats how i get my vids on my comp but the leadtek card i wanna buy is confising the CRAP out of me....

THATS the back of the leadtek card... i have NO idea how to get sound and video to it?!?! can someone help!?!?!?.... all i have on my vidccam for connector are the RCA... yellow for vid and REd for audio... i have no idea how id hook it up to anew leadtek...someone wanna help me please??
