booting problems at 133mhz fsb
ive no idea why. quite often when i have the machine set to 133/133 i cant boot into window with it. it passes post and then hangs. if i boot in safe mode it always hangs at "giveio.sys", yet it has none of these problems at 100/100 i know its not the cpu or ram, because they have both been replaced and the problem still exists. i doubt its the graphics card or sound card, because they run at the same speed weather at 100/100 or 133/133. that narrows it down to the motherboard, or the bios i think. does anybody know of these problems with the k7s5a? oh btw, the pc in question comprises of: 1 amd athlonXP2100 t/bred 'b' aiucb 1 stick of 512mb samsulg dlt 1 geforce 3 200 1 c-media 5.1 soundcard ( i forget the exact details) 1 350w techwill power-supply 1 liteon 32x burner any help is greatly appreceated.

You could try monitoring the 3.3v line and see if it is lagging too much at 133. If you have the OC bios from cheepoman that allows the FSB to be set to 110 or 112 or 124, try each of these and see if the voltages change. It is possible something is maxing out the 3.3v line when you are at 133. Also, if you have a smaller memory stick or a PC133 to try that should lighten the load on the 3.3v rail. If using that eases the problem it could indicate the PSU is not up to the task. ![]()

no i dount think its the psu. when im in window i can use speedfan to set the fsb to 146.7 - 1905mhz, and the 3.3v line is dead on @ 3.33v. 5v is @ 4.98. 12v is a little low at 11.84, but other than that its fine. at 133fsb its even closer to spec so im sure thats not the problem. its totally rock solid once im in windows - it only seems to be a boot problem. i have flashed the bios yet, thats next on the list.
