SOLVED: Opera 10.01 Embedded Objects Fix Patch

The Opera 10 series has an annoyance to prompt:

"Click to activate and use this control"

The annoyance occurs when an embedded object (like Flash or Windows Media) exists on a webpage without a workaround to prevent the annoyance message in place.

The Opera website informs of a way to patch a component of Opera to remove the annoyance. The page may be found:

http://my.opera.com/d.i.z./blog/2009...omment10611029

The article seems to have been written for earlier Opera versions.

Can the same process be used to patch Opera such that the annoyance message and it related object disabling function is removed?

Is a patch that would work on Opera 10.01 available?

A few years ago many more websites had the problem. These days web developers often workaround the problem.

There are still some web developers that do not implement workarounds.

All those links work perfectly for me.

Opera is also my main browser, and I have never ran into this anywhere.

The links work. What was at issue were embedded objects like Adobe Flash or Macromedia Flash, Windows Media, and other content.

This was once a great issue with Internet Explorer 6 with SP2 update (in 2006 I believe), but eventually the problem was resolved with an update.

Workarounds existed (usually scripts) that allowed a web developer to get around the initial click requirement.

After reexamination of the article I had linked to, I noticed that the patch available for download on the website is more recent than the article.

It appears that the Pearl script patcher available for download has been updated after the release of the article (this is not indicated in the article).

Currently, the Pearl script patcher available for download from the link in the article may be used to remove the "Click to activate and use this control" annoyance.
