So I got another 2209WA and THIS one is very good..Q's?

I'm officially impressed with this monitor.

The last one I got had defective response time washed out colors and a bad panel apparently. This one is on another planet.

Very sharp. Good (not excellent, but good) brightness and contrast.

The colors are quite accurate and the color gamut is very good for the price.

Colors are punchy without being over saturated or un-natural looking.

The cables are still a complete joke and will require replacing but I plan to keep this 2209.

One negative- the response time kind of sucks. It's definitely 6ms. The last monitor this size I had was a 2ms TN. Though the 2209 has way better everything else, there was some slightly noticeable ghosting in some paint (giant black dot super zoomed moving on white background) and some videos I watched.

Only noticeable if you're looking for it except in rare instances.

Anyways...

Just quick questions-

What's the deal with the driver CD? No option to install drivers? It just opened an instruction manual I had to fish around to the EN folder, right click and INSTALL monitor profile. However, when I go to monitor settings for resolution etc it lists as plug and play.

Nvidia control panel (not the windows display control panel) recognizes it as a 2209WA but that could just be the USB handshake and not a successful driver install.

Any opinions on how to calibrate the color best? I usually just use Natural Color Pro... it isn't great though.

Thanks

Also it will not let me set above 60Hz... ??

You're going to need to pay about twice as much if you want more than 60Hz.

Yeah, most LCDs don't like more than 60 or 75Hz.. glad you like your monitor though
Thinking about getting one myself.

I thought you didn't like the grainy coating or something? Was that a problem with the defective one or is it not as obvious now that you have a fully functional one?

Never even cracked the seal on my driver CD? Never saw a reason to.
Havent tried setting mine above 60hz. Saw no reason to do that either. Even in the most intense moments of gaming, I see no lag or anything.

the driver is on the cd.... you plug the monitor in start up your comp, put the cd in. then go to the device manager right click on the monitor click update driver. Then you select the option to define your own driver, and point to the driver in the driver folder on the cd.

The driver is there to load color profiles as well as working resolutions.
