Please help me with q6000

Hello all,

I want help to overclock my intel quad6600.
I have it stock at 2.4Ghz with Asrock P4STS mobo.
I want to oc at 3.2.
Is there any willing to help me please?

I tried to oc it thu the windows tuner came with my mobo. I took it at 3.0.It seems stable but i suppose that the dram is decreasing then because i get low on benchmarks then. When i put from bios the cpu frequency to 340 with multiplier 9x the cpu goes at 3.1 but the ram is going down from 1066 (533x2) to 667(333x2) when i put it at the top dram speed given eg. 1120 (580x2) the pc doesnt open up i reset the bios and put in factory.

If i change my ram from ddr2 to ddr3 1333mhz and put the cpu frequency around 3.2 and go back and change the dram frequency to the new given around e.g lets say 1336 or something there will im ok ?

Is this your mb? http://www.asrock.com/mb/overview.asp?Model=P45TS
You need to set your DRAM Freq to double whatever your cpu freq is.

You are overclocking RAM at not enough voltage. You have about 4 days of learning to do.

Welcome to OC Forums!

Try giving your cpu and ram a little more voltage. Can you list what setting you are currently using in your BIOS? We will be able to help you much more once we know what settings you are using.
