Physics will apply, but not enough for us to take it into consideration. At this point, even with a few front fans as intake, you need more intake than exhaust. You want there to actaully be some cool air from outside to go through that true... and it prevents your fans from having to work so hard. These cases work best with the rear fan set to intake, the heatsink pointed up, with a fan pulling through it pointing up, and the top fans set to exhaust. On top of that, the bottom fan should be intake, simply because it'd be easier to suck air through than to push air out when there's so little space there. And I didn't take the PSU into consideration because it would have it's own inlet on the bottom of the case. CM 690's do that. Now, go take a hike if you want your one of your first post to tell somebody to not listen to somebody who gave some thoughtful advice.

Ditto. The whole flume idea of making it so your fans work with the chimney effect created in your case is a marketing gimmick. In HVAC systems, cold air comes in from the ceiling. If it came in from the floor level it would not dissipate into the area very well. Cold air is heavier, so when it enters from the top it is able to fall to the floor, and in its path, create an even dispersion of cool air. This process happens over 8+ ft in height though. The case is so small that your fans will overcome any laminar airflow effects. Put them wherever works best. Do some runs with different configurations and measure temps. Pick the best .

Hey guys, I'd like to further discuss fan positions, but right now, I'm excited about my GFX temps! I just swapped the 46cfm enermax which was on the HR-03-GT, with the AC Ryan 77.70cfm which was on the case floor. Here's the results: YESTERDAY: Enermax on VGA @ idle: 45c with lowest fan settings on vga cooler, floor and top. Also cpu fan (74cfm) set to low with smart fan enabled. 36c idle on highest fan settings on cooler, floor, top, and cpu fan with smart fan disabled. @ Load with furmark with full fan speeds : 58c TODAY AC Ryan on VGA @ 35c with lowest fan settings on vga cooler, floor and top. Also cpu fan (74cfm) set to low with smart fan enabled. 33c idle on highest fan settings on cooler, floor, top, and cpu fan with smart fan disabled. ![]() @ Load with furmark with full fan speeds : 45c ![]() And I haven't even redone the MX-2 yet where I broke the seal when first installing the VGA cooler. How good is that? To give you a reference, with stock GFX cooler and stock cpu cooler, I was getting 52c idle and 85c load with furmark. Well happy! ![]()

The HDD cage actually slides in and is held down with a thumb screw. I lost the cage though. The front bezel is actually extremely ugly. It used to look like this: ![]()

Man all these pics make me really want to finish my build. I'm stuck back on my old PC again, 90% of the time. I get the newer rig when the woman's not home. I'm one moutning kit (9.95, when it's released), 20 foot of tube, a cpu, and a board away from the box being built again. It's simply agonizing waiting. ![]()
