my new Asus 6800U http://fileshosts.com/videocards/6800U/Asus/1/ :D

still stock cpu with card oc'd @ 460/1200 = 13,817 :cool:

3dmark2003_460-1200_13817.jpg

idle = 48-51C
load = 66-72C

got mine locally in Australia for special price at Pluscorp.com.au - one of the first 6 cards in Australia retail AUD$1000+ but special price was AUD$899

Is this the V9999 Gamers edition by ASUS because if it is you only have 12 pipelines not 16 likea real ultra or a GT for that matter.But hey its still a nice card,

.

No i just looked at your pics and the ones on ASUS site you have the 16 pipes which im sure you knew anyway.Eitherway it would be an awesome card.Im so jealous....lol

yeah i see.Nice nice card.Im getting me a Gt very soon i cant rerally afford and ultra.Well i could but the GT i can get for around $450 and the ultra for around 600 i just dont see $150worth of extra performance.But if i were to see a good deal for one i would jump onit...lol

rivatuner 2.0 RC15 is nice to be able to record this cards' temps

load 70C
idle 50C
hardware_monitor_rthdribl_1.jpg

and this is right after a stock 425/1100 3d2k3 run

load 72C
idle 50C
hardware_monitor_3d2k3_425-1100_1.jpg

Well prelim oc'd cpu + oc'd card 3dmark2003 scores don't do much for me...

P4 3.2EE @ 250fsb 1:1 2-2-2-6
6800U @ 450/1150 = 14,088

P4 3.2EE @ 200fsb 1:1 2-2-2-6
6800U @ 460/1200 = 13,817

P4 3.2EE @ 200fsb 1:1 2-2-2-6
6800U @ 425/1100 stock = 12,966

GPU idle: 49-50C
GPU load: 70-72C

in comparison my X800Pro

P4 3.2EE @ 250fsb 1:1 2-2-2-6
X800pro @ 617/607 = 14,332

P4 3.2EE @ 249fsb 1:1 2-2-2-6
X800Pro @ 564/609 = 13,623

P4 3.2EE @ 200fsb 1:1 2-2-2-6
X800Pro @ 615/605 = 13,481

P4 3.2EE @ 200fsb 1:1 2-2-2-6
X800Pro @ 564/605 = 12,223

I know 3d2k3 is GPU intensive but would of thought with cpu clocked @ 250fsb would of resulted in a much bigger increase???

yeah you would think.I know 9800se doesnt even compare to either one of these cards you have but when i raise the cpu up to 250 or 260 fsb doesnt make a whole lot of difference from stock.And i dont know what gives with my card but when i overclock it to 412core and 370 ram it dosent help much either i dont understand this card at all i freaking hate this card i will never buy something again that i dont really want just because somebody tell me it would be better than the fx5900 i had.God i wish i had kept that card i think i might just sell this one to see what i can get for it.

My 3.2EE/P4C800-E/6800U pc is connected to a shared APC 1500VA RS UPS with monitoring software on another pc. Decided to checked out the difference in power consumption between idle and load of the system (cpu and 6800U)

3.2EE @ 200fsb with 1.6v set droops to 1.536v
6800U @ 425/1100 stock speeds
Asus P4C800-E with MCX159 NB heatsink/fan
Corsair Hydrocool unit + 120x38mm Delta 190cfm fan on medium speed
1GB OCZ PC3500 Plat LE BH-5 @ 200mhz 2-2-2-6 cooled by 2x 60x25mm Sunon fans
80GB WD 800JB
2x 92x38mm Sunon 120cfm fans 12.5W rated on low speed
550W Antec True Control PSU

pc off: 164W
idle: 398-407W (remember have another system connected to same UPS)
load: 545-554W running full run of 3dmark2003 drops to 508W when running the 2 CPU tests in 3d2k3

extra power used under load = 156W max
total system power used idle = 407-164 = 243W
total system power used load = 554-164 = 390W

6800U_425-1100_398to554W.jpg

remember 3.2EE by itself is rated at 103W at stock speed and stock 1.55v vcore

nice read at http://www.spodesabode.com/content/article/6800upower

6800U power consumed on 5V and 12V rails
12v = 5amps = 60W
5v = 3.5amps = 17.5W
5 + 12V = 77.5W
AGP slot = 46W

total = 77.5 = 123.5W

seems to agree with my findings above

554W max load with 508W in cpu tests, means 46W difference when card not in full load usage

what driver's are you using on the 6800 ultra?
i'd recommend 61.77, stay away from the beta 65.62's for benches, they suck.
also what driver settings are you using? make sure the aa/af optimization's are on, and your set to high performance.

with my gt, and the rig in my sig, i get 13012 on 03.

http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k3=2983006

so you gotta be able to get more from your setup.
there's just no way that x800 is gonna beat the ultra. /imo
