here's my best 6400 bench so far ...

spent an hour trying to get past 4040ghz but couldn't figure out what the hold up was.

for some reason, in the first image below, the cpu temp wasn't displayed ... but, for the record, it was idling around 49C at the 4040ghz setting. ambients temps were *cold* ... around 15C ...

here's my best bench so far:

here's the modded air cooling setup i tested with:

and finally ... here's a screeny of my regular 24/7 settings:

still don't know what was holding me back; i tried everything, memory settings, various vcores to MB components, vcore to mem and cpu, ... totally hit a wall after 4040ghz.

i wish i had thought to do the 32 meg superpi but totally gel'd.

<shwew!>

to be honest; i'm glad it's over. :)

for daily work ... i like things just fine at 3.6 (winter *or* summer); but nice to have hit the 4ghz mark as well ... if only for pr0pz.

lol first off your pics dont work.... second have you maxed the voltage on your SB chip... i got a good 20extra mhz of fsb from maxing and keeping my sb chip cool. LOL funny thing is... ya you got to 4ghz but 4.1 really isnt much more impressive... but 4.5... 5ghz now thoes are impressive... i guess bigger numbers = more impressive.

edit pics work now....

This thread is insanity. If only I had the money for an upgrade. Donations anyone?

ya .... i got lucky and bought ddr2 Gskill PC6400 hz stuff back when it was cheaper... 230 to be exact now its WOWOWOOWOWOW its 304 OUCH... that sux BIG time.

wow thats amazing... what kinda vcore were you pumpin through that thing.... if you were to pop a ultra 120 or a tuniq tower you could get even lower temps.

vcore was set at 1.7 in bios; as far as actual vcore during testing ... dunno, cpu-z's voltage read out gets flaky after 3.6ghz or so ...

...

just installed a scythe infinity ... figure it's within a degree or two of both the tuniq and ultra 120; almost bought the ultra120, but chose the infinity cause it was available locally (no shipping); i'm pleased with the results so far.

Mate, you did this with only 1.52 volts....Nice

damn you all!!!! I will make a 3.9ghz club!!!!
1.7vcore, cant boot after this speed..

not like I would want to put more vcore into this thing anyways...

yes, those are my idle temps LOL, 19c ambient, air cooling.

my chipset voltage was 1.65 I believe...maybe those are holding me back? What is the limit for that thing (no way of knowing temps, no sensor on the nb)
