Well all runs fine @150fsb.@1.7CV but if I get any faster than that 162@1.8CV XP will run but after shutting down and restarting usually the next morning I get message... /sys /config/ sys32/ file is missing or corrupt. Try repairing blah blah blah. at this point I'm left with reinstalling XP and starting over. The repair process seems monumental and @microsoft site the directions are under the pretense that your running fat32 which I'm not. This was a real drag with raid 0 as it left me with nothing to salvage. I'm now back to master /slave arrangment. Thought all was well but when I fired it up this morning I recieved the same message ..missing or corrupt sys/config/sys32. Drag I will start again when I get home from work tonight. Is there some way to avoid this from happening. Help Please and thank you My temps seem reasonable 40/42idle and 46/48 under load. This is with winbond hardware doc. and temp probe on rdram.

If you get file corruption then it seems that your hard drives can't cope with your PCI speed. Are you using the fix option in teh BIOS? Which BIOS version? I've heard that it's better to use a divider (in MrNatural's beta BIOSes you have many of them) as opposed to the fix setting if your FSB is high.

Copied and pasted from one of my previous replies:

You probably could have easily fixed the corrupt Windows XP files. For some reason, Microsoft likes to confuse people and asks them to press "R" for repairs during the very beginning of the setup. This then takes you into DOS mode so you can repair files but in my opinion, its completely useless.

I had the same problem and I found that you have to load the Windows XP setup, hit enter to install, accept the agreement (you hit F8 or something) and then it will show a list of your currently installed Windows XP partitions. Highlight the damaged partition and press "R" to repair it. Don't be confused with the "R" that you are asked to press during the beginning of the setup, this is very different. After selecting "R", Windows XP will attempt to repair your current Windows XP partition automatically. I have had to do this about three times after getting corrupt files that didn't let me boot into windows, it worked every time.

Next time repair it instead of installing Windows XP again, if possible.

If you didn't already do that, try it in the future as it should completely fix the problems. Make sure to do the repair with all settings at default as well. I have had to explain this about 5 times already... there should be a sticky or something.

If you already did this and it did not work, then I don't know! :D

Thanks AMD Builder Yes that worked famously wish I knew about that before now. Oh well I am very thankful to find this out. Yes the ms dos repair idea is some twisted microsoft thing that I never would have been able to accomplish. Agaian I am for ever in your debt you have no idea how pleased I am to not have to rebuild again! Cheers Marc

I swear by Ghost 2002 to back up and restore my WinXP partition, especially when I get overclocking anxious. Takes less than a minute to completely restore XP partition(NTFS) no matter how trashed it is.
