What monitor is best for gaming?

I currently have a 22" w2252tq monitor but I'm wondering is it worth getting a larger monitor?
Although I can fit up to a 36" monitor on my desk I'm looking for something in the 24-26" region.
I have quite a low budget of 240 squids so a 26" might be to expensive.

Will I notice a massive difference between the 22 and a 24 or 26?

The step up is certainly worth it IMHO as 1920x1200/1920x1080 is currently the sweet spot for almost everything fun you can do on a computer.

As for the best monitor for gaming it is hands down the Sony GDM-FW900 but I doubt you want to deal with a 93lb monitor

I so want this monitor, but my dual 22 inch LCD set up is so nice. Would be zero room for it as well.
