Dual Monitor Issue

So I just purchased a 24" Dell 1920x1080 monitor and i want to run dual with my old 19" 1280x1024. Now my GPU is VisionTek HD 4850 512Mb. I run Win7 64-bit and XP pro 32 bit. Now on both its work fine for awhile but then i'll get green and red bars or one color bars and a black screen on the second then the picture shows back up but my system is totally frozen, num lock won't go on or off. I have CCC 9.6 and have all the up to date drivers. It's just whenever i use both screens after i start to do something like videos, games, music, pictures etc. it locks up.

I can't quite figure out what it is. Maybe i'm doing something wrong.

I also have a VisionTek HD4850. I also have this issue, along with the video driver randomly crashing while using dual monitors and then the system will BSOD

This along with other heat related issues with my card is causing me to switch back to Nvidia. :(

Uninstall the drivers COMPLETELY and reinstall, sounds just like a simple driver error to me, but I could be wrong. If the reinstall doesn't work, it's 'most likely' the card, but don't quote me on that, there could be any other number of reasons.

I would say dont rush into thinking its a harware issue.... could well be duff drivers or some conflict at the software end of things?

these kind of obscure things are a pain in the arse!
