View Full Version : Dell G2410 monitor opinion's.
I have been looking around for an inexpensive 24" LCD...Was looking at Asus and some other low end priced 24 inchers...But the Dell looks like an acceptable deal.
Is there something out there in the 250 dollar range that I should be looking at or do you guys think for 250 it is about as good as I am going to be able to get ???
Hoping there is a cupon out there somewhere that will lower the price.

nothing spectacular about the specs TBH... good price but it is a TN.
As far as the price... if you go through dell small business
http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/products/Monitors/productdetail.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=bsd&cs=04&sku=320-7956
and use these cupon codes
Coupons:
6MN1R42XCHN0F6 - 20%
TJJSS8$J2MNJ0P - 10%
u can get the price down to $215.28 before tax, any fees.... and i think its free shipping.
Its probably one of the better 24inchers at this price range thats for sure. I am just so spoiled with the dell 2209WA that anything TN based looks well dumb.

Yeah TN panels are not the best...Struggled with getting a smaller one.
Are there any smoking deals out of these smaller Dell's ???

Looks like a bunch of them will be about the same price or cheaper.
And just noticed this other 24" Dell that is 219.00

Thanks for the links on how to get a better deal...I hate getting something and finding out about coupons/discounts.
I would really appreciate your feedback on the 22 and under LCD's and how to go about getting the coupon/discount deals as I have money burning a hole in my pocket...Sold my Samsung and am looking at a 21" Dell Sony Trinitron.
Acutally...This old monitor has a pretty awesome picture...Have another one in the closet that I used to do the dual monitor thing with.
LOL...Talk about taking up some desk...Whew...Just this one is monsterous...Cant believe I used to have both of them sitting on my desk.
Thanks again for the reply's guys !!!!!!!

if you want a 22incher look no further than the 2209WA by dell.
1680x1050 @ 75 hz, eIPS technology brings you super good viewing angles, awesome color accuracy, with ZERO input lag. right now with the cupons your looking at 201 with free shipping.

the 2209WA IS the best 22incher out there period.
As far as the S2409W i wouldnt get it... 16:9 is just too wide for normal computer usage, and the G2410 has a higher resolution for a similar price. and definitely dont go with the super high rez SP2309W ... i had it for a week hated it and shipped it back to dell.

+1
for 2209wa e-IPS FTW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ask a friend to try the coupons and see what it would come out to for the G2410 with sales tax and all that business.
He said the 20% coupon would not work so he called Dell...Guy told him no dice.
LOL...Somewhere in our conversation we got crossed up and he ordered it...Came to 242.00 and some change.
Was leaning towards the 2209WA but it looks like I will be giving the G2410 a test drive.
Did Dell give you any static when you exchanged the SP2309 ???
Seems the 2209WA is no doubt about it a great LCD after reading mulitple threads here @ Overclockers.
I do not game on my computer anymore...Really just use it for playing music, surfing and an occasional movie.
Guess I will post back after it gets delivered and tell you guys what I think...Well that is if I can return it after giving it a spin.

dell refunded ALL my money when i returned the SP2309W... something like 350 ish dollars. i then once the money was in my account bought the 2209wa.
Well the G2410 came in today.
Great black...Very little back light bleed...No dead pixels...Easy to use OSD.
Picture...Hummm...My Sammy has been gone for a couple of weeks...But it certainly had a much more vibriant picture.
It certainly is no match for the 21" Dell Trintion CRT.
Probably play with it a couple more days and send it on back and get the 2209WA.
I had hoped that it would trounce the Sammy...But nahh.

ya i was like you... i had a Sony E540 trinitron 21incher, loved it but i needed to go lcd as the e540 was starting to get a lil fuzzy. i was super hesitant on getting an lcd, i bought and returned a samsung t220 and 2253bw as well as a dell sp2309w... then i got the 2209wa and omg it was the monitor that change me from being the lcd hater to the lcd lover!
Yeah, I'm at a friends right now looking at a old ViewSonic LCD...I mean old.
It pretty much dust the G2410...Much crisper text...Much better looking image.
I will play with it one more day.
Really like the size.
Which 24" monitors out there that are comprable to the 2209WA ???
Well I guess I should ask is there a 24" LCD that is in the ball park with the 2209WA that can be had for 400 dollars.
I must be tripping...I cannot find the 2209WA on Dell's site...I see a E2209W, S2209W.
No 2209WA...Am I missing something ???

it hasnt been discontinued... but it has been pulled from dells website because as a dell rep said they are "extremely backordered" on the 2209wa, people who bought it just before it got pulled from the site have ship dates in SEPTEMBER. and it was stated that dell is gonna get 700 of them on the 13th, so we will see if it comes back up on the website, dont get ur hopes up, im glad i got mine a while back when i did!

Do you have any idea what time they will put it them back up if they actually do ???
Midnight...Noon.
And now I'm a skeerd...Is the Dell UltraSharp 2408 WFP the good 24"
Got me all confused with the S2209 and all that business.
Hate to pony up the extra duckies for the 2408 WFP only to find out it is not an eIPS panel or what ever the good one is.
That is if the 2209WA is not available the 13th...I will be watching tonight at 12:00AM...Get up at the crack of dawn and check again...Luckily for me I do not have do the pool hustle and can sit and watch Dell's site all day long.
My friend Jason seeezzzz..."Your search skills are weak old man"
So if you guys see the 2209WA on Dell's site please send me a PM or reply to this thread.
I would really appreciate any information about the 2408 WFP...Is it the one and all that jazz.
Thanks for the help guys.

^ for the price of that samsung 22... you could have an IPS 24incher.
the 2209WA has far better viewing angles and color accuracy than the TN panneled 2233RZ... only thing hthe RZ has on the wa is refresh rate. 120hz on the rz vs 75max on the WA.

Dunno about you but I sit right in front of my monitor, and for gaming, speed kills
