Hello guys,

I just completed setting up my first dual monitor configuration. I have a 30" Dell Ultrasharp and a 22" Dell Ultrasharp (vertically oriented). When I move the mouse from one screen to the next, the mouse "jumps" vertically. The mouse does not enter the second screen at the same point that it leaves the first. Outside of physically changing the height of the monitor on the stand, is there anyway to change where the mouse enters via software/drivers.

Thanks!!

All you have to do is drag the monitor icon in the Display Properties window. On XP, right click the desktop, click Properties and go to the last tab.

Besides that, no, I have not heard of a program that does that.

are the monitors the same vertical resolutions?

No they are not, they are as follows:

1050x1680 (vertically oriented)
2560x1600

Is the resolution the issue? I will try forcing a custom resolution to see if that fixes it.

I may not have been explicit enough so I drew a little diagram. The red/pinkish lines represent the mouse trail as I move from one monitor to the next in either direction. This is also how I have the monitors oriented.

Leave the resolutions alone, LCDs do not display non-native resolutions well.

Basically, there is no fix for it, that is how it is supposed to work.

EDIT: Post a screen shot of the display properties.
