he spilled the soup directly inside the thing while it was on, and he turned it off/unplugged it quickly. itsa widescreen 19inch lcd monitor
it looks like an acer monitor, but its just branded as a "vision" monitor

any possible way the thing could still be alive?

even if it does manage to turn on the life will be very short, when I think of soup I think lots of salt, salt corrodes electronics like acid so he might just be better off not playing with fire and I mean literally lol

If it does work, it will smell like that soup when it gets warmed up and might make him hungry again lol.

If you or he feels adventurous you could take it apart and clean the affected areas with some alcohol.

theres a walkway behind the desk. he was walking by and tripped or something and it went right into the back of the monitor. bad desk spot lol

its up and working now, but im a little concerned about the grease and w/e was in the soup getting inside and screwing everything up
ive heard of using alcohol as a cleaning tool, but ive also heard that it may be too strong (really?)
ive also heard of people just using soap/water to do it, but im pretty sure i wouldnt go for that

Open it up and clean it all with the highest % isopropyl alchol you can find, you do not need to worry about it being 'too strong' stronger the better, the weaker stuff has more water in it, thats not good :)

Yeah, if your going to open it up and clean it out alcohol wont hurt anything in there that I'd be aware of, we use it at work for electric compnents cleaning all the time at a high percentage. The stronger the better. I think that stuff is like 98%

Just make sure it's all evaporated of course before you turn it on again when you close it back up, I'd never tried opening a monitor up myself, if you do good luck :)
