Hello.

Will a 4770 run dual 22" monitors at 1920x1080 resolution? I'll be using it for web design and gaming.

When you connect 2 monitors to a single graphics card it basically splits it in half, so you would only get half the performance, right?

Would it be better to just buy 2 graphics cards and hook up one to each monitor? Or should I just connect both to the same graphics card?

I'll be using two Dell 22" S2209W.

Suggestions are always welcome. Maybe a stronger graphics card? Or 22" with lower resolution? I am clueless when it comes to monitors.

i don't think performance drops unless your spanning a single "game" across both screens.

like 3840x1080 gaming.

Nope, won't be using both monitors at the same time when gaming. So, the 4770 should be enough to power both monitors nicely?

You would get full performance minus 1-2 fps (if that). Basically, you won't notice if you add the other monitor unless you span, like a previous poster mentioned.

when you start a game, unless it supports dual resolutions, secondary monitor stays at desktop and primary monitor goes into games.

To add, unless you play in windowed mode, you cant freely switch between the two monitors while gaming. when you switch to the secondary to surf the web or chat or whatever, the game minimizes.

I have two 24"s and love it. its terrific when working on photoshop, illustratior, alias..etc.
Once you go dual monitors, I'd suggest a program like ultramon.

only down side to dual is...finding high-res quality 3840x1200/1080 wallpapers. lol
by high-res I mean actual resolutions, not smaller pixels stretched to fit. I ended up making alot of them myself. :D
