So my monitor kept going to sleep on its own while I was playing games. The sleep feature was turned off, but every time about an hour into the game it went to sleep and locked up.
I googled this issue and and someone said that he uninstalled his monitors drivers and went back to using his "Generic PnP" monitor that your PC should recongize when you first plug a monitor in. So I figured why shouldn't I try this? I mean, I downloaded the monitors drivers to fix a previous problem, but it didn't fix it, so I figured I had nothing to lose.
So I uninstalled my monitors drivers and everything started going screwy.
Under Device Manager, there isn't even a MONITOR tab there, so I can't mess with anything.
If I try to re-install my monitors drivers, still nothing comes up in device manager.
This is a huge problem because now my ATI drivers aren't working properly, and none of the resolutions available to me are within my monitors input range. Sometimes it acts really screwy and goes into like a 1900x1400 resolution even though my monitor can only go up to 1440x900, so I can't do or see anything important on my PC, nor can I bring up windows to change the resolution.
I can uninstall my ATI drivers, but re-installing never occurs correctly and my monitor is never recognized. Not even "Generic PnP monitor".
