DVI to HDMI converters, upscale images?

if u hve a dvi port on the back of ur gpu and u use a dvi to hdmi converter to connected it to your monitor via hdmi cable, do u get better quality than dvi, or rather, do you get hdmi quality?

No change in quality.

Certain cards (with correct adapters) will transfer audio through the DVI to HDNI adapter as well.

HDMI and DVI are just the types of plugs. Both use the same digital signal.

HDMI = DVI but can carry Audio, some cards as NeurO said can carry audio out via DVI, due to the plug being modified so to speak.
