so i just installed windows 7

it recognizes that its a sharp LCD, but only lets me go upto 1600x1200
i can do 1360x768...but not 1080p..which is supported over VGA

im lost, tried to enable treat as HDTV in nvidia options but there is no such option!

Are you connecting via VGA? If so I think that is your problem. I just got a new Aquos and I believe I saw in the book that it didnt support high-def/widescreen resolutions via VGA. If you have a DVI connector from your card/mobo, get a DVI->HDMI cable or converter. That will should work.
