Hello, I'm very close to ordering the Asus VH226H 21.5" LCD (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236051) for PC usage, recording museek, reading and playing Xbox 360..
I've already read this LCD is culprit to some backlight bleeding (top and bottom) when its dark, but that's fine by me considering i aint payin much... however, just wanted clarify before making the plunge to 1080p...
if I run xbox 360 games, they run on 720p, will it look crisp or will it be streched coz the tv's native resolution is 1080p?? coz if thats the case I'd rather go for a 720p quality screen instead.. so OC'ers, What say you?

How the XBOX games will be shown on the TV will depend on the TV. If it can operate in 1:1 pixel map then it won't be stretched/scaled and 720p stuff should be perfect 720p. However, on a screen so small, the 1280x720 picture would be tiny. The 360 and more and more games are written to support 1080p so personally I'd just set the console to output full HD res and let it sort out scaling where necessary.

I think almost all Xbox360 games run on 720p... I don't think it has the processing power to run Gears of War 2 and GTA IV on 1080p.. So how do I find out whether the monitor supports 1:1 pixel map?

Sorry to bump this old thread, but I really didn't get my answer, anybody knows about this 1:1 pixel map issue? does it display 720p pixel to pixel or is it stretched and ugly?

isn't 720p 16:9 just like 1080p so it should look the same. i set up my 360 once to my 22" monitor (1680x1050) and it looked nice but it had black bars at the bottom and top

Sa3atsky I actually just got this same monitor for Christmas. First off don't worry about the bleeding. I was, but it is only noticeable when you pull up a black window. To answer your question about the 360..... I don't actually have a 360 but my cousin does and he spent a week with me at my house last week. We went out to Radio Shack and got a HMDI cord and plugged in his 360. It looked so good!!!! Took up the whole screen and graphics were very impressive. Like I said I don't own a 360 myself but I remember it looking flawless. We played CoD for hours on this monitor and I never second guessed it. It is a great monitor (especially for the price) stand is a bit flimsy (little bit of shaking even as I type this) but other than that I would DEFIANTLY recommend it and I don't think you will be disappointed with the way your 360 looks on it. =)

also I was in Game Stop today and asked the clerk if xbox 360 was 720 or 1080p and he said 1080p with the HDMI cable......
