I was having problems with my 28" Hanns G HG281D not going into sleep mode.So after two days worth of googling i found some useful info that anyone here with a Nvidia Video card and the Hanns G HG281D 28" LCD might find helpfull.Even you guys with ATI cards might find some useful info here as well Since a lot of LCD monitor using only the HDMI and VGA connector's have this problem because the computer see's these monitors as HD-TV's and will not give it the signal it needs to go into sleep mode.
I love my new hanns G HG281D but the only problem i had with it was this monitor only has a VGA and HDMI connector.And when i would use the VGA cable and a DVI adapter to hook it up to my GTX260's the screen turned yellow and i could nt fix it.But with the DVI to HDMI cable it looks awesome and eveything is great except for it not going into sleep mode after shutting down my PC .So i was determined to find a solution to this problem and I found 3 solutions.One is to just shut the monitor off after shutting my PC down..lol.The second was to restart the PC and then shut it down again before it makes it to windows this will also make the monitor go into sleepmode.
.But i finnally found a better solution.I found a reg hack to put the HG281D to sleep and it works great.I just wish nvidia and or hanns g would fix the problem right.By the way this not just a problem for nvidia and hanns G.It happens with a lot of Monitors and Video cards using DVI to HDMI cable because the computer see's the monitor as a HD-TV

make a batch file and patch reg.I couldnt get these codes to work to.Id make the batch file and it would patch the reg but the monitor still wouldnt go into sleep mode:bang head
