My new Dual Screen Setup (SLI)

Just showing off what I newly acquired I guess you could say. Picked this up at best buy as an End of Life item on manager's special. 189 for a 25.5 inch Samsung 2693HM. Goes great next to my 24in Samsung. Gotta say, SLI with dual monitors enabled works great.

SLI doesnt work with multiple monitors i thought? if SLI is on, you can only use one monitor.

Dual monitors do work in SLI now(big bang drivers)but i found it to be a real pain in the butt to set it up the way i liked it.I got two Dell 2007FP Ultra Sharps and i just couldnt get them to work the way i wanted them to.So i went with a huge 28 Hanns G thanks to Ziggo

The end of life items for the manager's specials are priced as the manager of that store see's fit. If the item isn't sold before the End of Life date, it counts against that store's budget, or so I was told. I picked up the last one that was new in box, I think they had a display model left as well, which is a steal at that price still, but I figured one was enough, especially since I already have the 24 inch.

The new Big Bang drivers do support dual screen SLI.

How it works; you enable dual screen support in the Nvidia Display Options, and then it gives you the option of which monitor, 1 or 2, that you want the SLI mode to be enabled on. I was running Crysis and getting as good frames per sec as I would in single monitor mode, with some programs going on the second monitor.

Now I've just gotta pic up a pair of 260 GTX's next month and I'll be set =P

And for anyone curious, the Best Buy is located in Newnan, Georgia.

EOL policy is the same as normal items (as far as returns and warranty's go). The whole thing behind EOL is that it counts against the store's budget for the full amount of the item if it's not sold before that date, so moving it out of the store for a largely reduced price (189 for example =P) is much better then -479.

Some items don't have a great discount, others have a great discount. I was talking to one of the guys who works up there, he got a 32in 720 LCD tv a while back for 227. Just check up at the store once a week to see if they have any decent EOL deals going.
