I got my new 3008WFP today, but for some reason every time i turn it on I cant help but think that the colour doesnt look right. Its all default and on desktop mode. I wonder if anyone else has had this problem, or knows a way i could improve the colour.

buy a hardware calibrator like a Spyder or Huey.

Ditto on a hardware calibrator. There may be color profiles floating around the net for your monitor, but it will probably still be way off (as the person who made the profile more then likely tweaked it for thier taste), so either way your better off with a hardware calibrator. I suggest the Huey Pro (or even the original Huey) from Pantone.

I picked up a huey Pro from ebay for around $50 shipped. The hueyPRO is all software difference, but you need to upgrade the firmware on the huey itself with "PRO" firmware (probably just a software switch saying that it is usable with PRO and not just standard).

If you want the colors to be ACCURATE, you need a colorimeter. If you want it to look good, then you can do whatever you want through software.

i used a spyder2 pro to calibrate mine. it's weird though... i can see the color change after i log into windows and the profile gets applied, and i always think to myself, "wow, that's red"

idk, i've calibrated during day and night and its the same either way. i never notice anything is off when i'm using it.. in fact, it looks great. probably just that my settings before the spyder profile gets applied are much cooler (ie not reds)

Indeed if you have gotten used to a red or blue tinted monitor (due to incorrect RGB settings), then the correct colors will look 'off', somehow...
