View Full Version : Should I sell or keep my projector?

So, I recently won a Mitsubishi HC6000 HD projector, worth around 3000€.
I've got a dilemma; Which can be neatly seen in the topic title. It's undoubtedly cool to have a super-leet projector, but my room can't support more than around 70-75" of screen, which is a total waste of a 500+ inch-capable projector, (As seen here. (http://www.ocforums.com/showthread.php?t=573698)) and 3000€ is a lot for a 15-year-old.
I'm really torn between keeping it and selling it, as I don't really have any need for either the money, or a large screen.
Help me!

Not like I would make room for it. If I had a good sized wall.
Then again. You could use the side of the building for EPIC game sessions. So many flexible options.
If I was hungry. I would sell it off.

I would sell it and build a new rig.
Yours is outdated.
3rd vote for you to sell the projector. As you said yourself, you can not use it to its full potential. You should take the money gained from the sell and buy some nice upgrades for your system and then save the rest for a raining day...my 2cents.

Sell it, invest $1500 - $2000 in a ridiculous new gaming rig, take the remaining $1000 - $1500, and buy the nicest 30" monitor you can find.

I'd sell it.

Keeping it all in one thread, would a TV like this (http://www.multitronic.fi/?prod=LE40A656A1C%2FXXE) be any good? I read about the 100Hz thing, and it's said to work wonders for gaming, which I'll be using this screen for.
Keep in mind if for some reason you decide to keep this projector the bulbs inside only last for so long and when they die they are very expensive. When the bulb dies or has a lot of life on it the projector wont sell for as much. Bulbs for these things are a couple hundred AFIAK.

Yeah, I know. Although, this is one of the longest-lasting bulbs on the market, can do 5000h.
I'm pretty much decided on selling it, and getting one of these (http://www.multitronic.fi/?prod=LE40A656A1C%2FXXE) instead.

Sell it and invest the money. Any type of investment that will produce returns. Whats better than free money? Making free money earn you money. ;)

id sell it and then either save the money for something important (I guess uni if you are 15) or buy a new beast of a PC and a nice new monitor :)
