Monitor Flashing Black Screen Randomly

Hi,

I hope you can help me,

I have a Sony 17" monitor, and it keeps randomly flashing a black screen, like the cable is falling out or not connected properly.

It is completely random when it flashes.

Any ideas what might be wrong?

How often does it happen?

its completely random, it may flash once every few minutes, or sometimes every couple of seconds

i reinstalled the ati drivers, seems to have fixed the problem
