The samsung 226BW from newegg seems to be a popular choice. With a 500 dollar budget you could get 2 of them =D

I don't have this monitor, but I have a samsung (204B) that I like a lot.

Samsung 245BW...for some reason I love this monitor:) and for 410, it's a steal.
It's a little older, has gotten above average reviews, is not the best, but I love it greatly for gaming. To be honest, as the prices keep going down I'll probably pick up a second.
