so I'm debating on getting an HDTV in a few weeks and using it as a computer monitor.

Here's my deal, I just moved and my 32" HDTV (150lb CRT) is at my brothers. Now I'm temporarily moving in with a guy for about 4 months or so, and the space is limited. I really might just sell my TV because I'm tired of lugging such a big thing around.

I'm debating on replacing my Samsung 17" LCD monitor with about a 20" or so LCD HDTV and that way not only will I have TV in my small bedroom but can hook up my Wii, and xbox, etc... How well does this work? and can anyone recommend a TV? I obviously don't want to spend $350-$400 on a HDTV and have it look worse than my old 17" monitor did for computing.

Do a forum search, someone had trouble with this I think.

As long as the resolution is good, and it has the proper inputs, you'd be ok I think. TV's frequently have lower resolutions than monitors and as a result any printing (ie: web pages) look poor. I've hooked my plasma up to my computer (DVI to HDMI) and while it's fine for viewing images, I'd never cruise the web on it.
