I have had a 19" Samsung 930b which has been a great monitor. I want to move up to a widescreen, but would like to find a DEAL. (who doesn't)

My friend just found an Acer X241W 24" widescreen from Best Buy for $300 which supposedly has a highher quality (S-ISP like quality panel) in it as Acer may have run out of TN panels at the end of their run and/or Best Buy got the model with a better panel. Whatever the case Acer X241W 24" W are being solkd as clearance itsems, and are a steal for those lucky enough to find one.

I've heard all 22" panels on the market are TN panels so getting a 22" wide screen which looks as good as my 930b will be impossible - although there are some great deals on 22" W LCDs.

I understand the 20" W LCDs range in quality from TN ~ S-ISP. Does anyone know of a 20" ~ 21" W panel which will match the quality of my 930b under $300

the acer at BB for 300 is an NT pannel. most people didn't like it...

try the soyo at OM for 290 shipped (after tax)... it's cheaper and NOT an NT pannel.

The HP W2207 is B-e-a-utiful. And thats not an understatement. The blacks are so near perfect its amazing. They have them on display at Circuit City, (they didn't at BB) so I'd say go there and check it out, if you have a local one.

I paid $350 including tax and am absolutely happy. It also has a fantastic height/tilt adjustment and will rotate if that is a desired feature.

Why 226BW (319USD) instead of this model (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824001083) 225BW (299USD) or this model (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824001240) 2220WM (269USD)

Imo a used Dell 2007WFP may be your best bet. Or if you are OK with refurb try finding an NEC 20WMGX2. I have two and they are awesome :D

Is that Dell the same panel as the Phillips Brilliance 200P7ES ? It's an S-IPS

Well I've begun to narrow it to the Soyo 24DYLM24D6 at Office Max for $299 (http://www.officemax.com/omax/catalog/sku.jsp?skuId=21361009)does anyone know what panel type this is if its not TN?

all 22inchers (99% of them) are going to be TN pannels just so you kno. a S-IPS 2007WFP is a BRILLIANT monitor. but harder to find.

it's an P-MVA panel... which is better than some TN

I had a 30 off coupon, so it came out 290 shipped after tax + recycling fees

If you can stack the 15 off and get 45 off... you can get it for 275 after tax + recycling fees, if you don't have tax, it drop to like 260... which i think is a really good deal for this pannel.

I hooked mine up today running 1920 X 1200 and it looks really good... ahah i'm running it on a radeon 9200 PCI... talk about old school, i thought the dam thing couldn't hit this monitor's native resolution.

Are you very happy with your Soyo 24" wide? Am I correct in the monitor or did you get the Dell?

Thank you for getting back to me.

Don't take this personally I appreciate your help, I just don't understand why everyone talks about viewing angle? Why would anyone want to view their monitor anywhere from in front of it? Reason I say this is because its just another number in the specs but in forums its mentioned by just about everyone?

I rarely look at my monitor from an "angle" unless I'm sitting on the floow messing with a waterblock or something. That's about 7% of my total time "viewing"

I found a non-TN 22" panel

Sitting in front means that the center of the monitor is the same hight as your eyes, how many people sit like that? I know its the healthiest way to sit but IMO most of us don't sit like that and surly not for hours. Don't forget the viewing angle means up/down and not just side to side.
Some TN panels lose color accuracy after you move few degrees and some are pretty good at keeping the colors right but nothing like a IPS panel.
When you are looking at an LCD just move your head in all the directions and see how it affects the colors, it might not bother you at all.

I guess your right. I happen to have my monitor at just the right height so it's at eye-level. I've become accustomed to this because I use the PC to write, ergo read and you have to get failry close and be at the correct height or you'll go blind.

But when I thunk of it, if I play a movie I'm leaning back. Thanx :)

YEH I just checked it again and he darn thing is now 390 or something. But did you check the model number carefully? I have to again because I thought the reason the Soyo was so inexpensive was due to it being an "older" design they wanted to discount.

HJave you found anything at Newegg? Reason I'm apprhgeanisve there is because of the dead pixel policy. If there's less then 8 you cannot return it. Well imagine 8 pixels dead center, I could see that driving anyone crazy.

The Asus monitors seem to have some good feedback? No 24" at a good price, but there's some 22" models which look interesting and Acer 22" panles are inexpensive :)

There's a Chimei 22" WS for only $219 after rebates and $249 regular price model;

Chimei CMV 221D (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824252008).

Acer AL2223Wd (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824009102)

Acer AL2216Wbd (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824009094)

BenQ FP222WH (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824014139)

Asus VW222U (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236028)

Anyone know anything about thes models listed above? Click on the model number for link to price page at the Egg-a-liscious

I second the samsung 226bw, After rebate it ends up being like 10$ more then the 225bw with a much better refresh rate.

Check out this (http://www.behardware.com/articles/689-12/22-inch-lcd-monitors-the-3rd-wave.html) review of 22" LCD's. Also check the older 22" reviews on the same site.

Just so you know, the 226BW comes with 3 panels and there is a chance you can get the same panel as in the Chimei model :)

I ordered the Dell 2007WFP myself after seeing an IPS panel on the same display with the TN's. The difference is AMAZING, both me and my GF ware standing there going "This can't be right..... it can't be that better then the others" but the fact is that it is.
