Something that seems to be missed a lot in the reviews is Input Lag or it's just me that has only noticed this issue. I wish every LCD test out there would also test for this & not just mention it as a flaw in current non-120Hz panel. Mobious mentioned that the older 244T had extreme problems with this & I looked it up. It’s a huge problem all around IMNSHO & would be really hard for me & my current build. I am a sim racer & have raced in the world championships in previous seasons & still hold a few hot lap records at find the limit. I take it seriously I guess:shrug:

After a few years, well 5 years:eek:, of sticking with my current system I am in the market with a mediocre budget of building a gaming rig that will also be used for work & multimedia. I do not live in the USA but in a 3rd world country. Delayed products releases & poor RMA issues coupled with no return no exchange policies forces me to make sure each item is exactly what I need with the highest reliability required, mistakes are going to be costly to say the least.

I need a monitor & after reading about input lag, things are getting harder. I would prefer a 24" because of the higher resolution of 1920X1200 so initially I was looking at the 245BW which is priced well locally. The 245T with all its bells & whistles look to be higher end monitor but with its "For Business" marketing strategy I am hesitant with its gaming ability. Both units will have to be ordered without me being able to test it & will have to purchase it on delivery. There is no Dell here priced competitively against Acer, BenQ, LG, and Samsung so they are out of the question. Viewing angle isn't a big concern either. I can go 22" if it will outperform a 24" even with the lower resolution but I'm still on the fence about stepping down to 22".

I’m all ears guys:beer:

Japan just got info about the next Dell 24" to replace the 2407 line, the "E248WFP":

Converted out, it looks to be around the $575-$600 area. I'm kinda ticked about how things have wound up currently with the 2407WFP-HC, but I'm very interested to see how this new monitor turns out. Best bet: wait and see how this one is. Whenever there is a new piece of hardware just around the corner, I always wait it out just in case ^^.

I'm in the same boat as you.

For instance a 19" NEC 90GX2, marketed as having a 4ms response time, only has an overall delay of 10ms, while a 24" Dell 2407WFP-HC, marketed as having a 6ms response time, has an overall delay of 40ms. That's quadruple!!

Despite the fact that there are many 2ms and 3ms screens like the NEC 90GX2 on the market, most are actually slower appearently! It's no wonder the companies don't list actual performance!

Overall delay = response time + other lag.

I have found there is only one solution when it comes to such concerns... try out the screens you're looking to buy!!!!!!!!!!! Find stores and stuff its the only way, because manufacturer stats can't be trusted, and some monitors haven't been reviewed, or different batches come out different, or what one person says is good may not be good to you.

QFT! Right now I am "testing" the Samsung 226BW, I have 14 days to return it for a full refund! :D
