Just kinda feeling out tv ideas, Mostly just for my 360 elite and maybe some HDTV later on. But other than that just for the xbox over the hdmi cord.

That ones on sale for like $560 this week. Kinda researching the tv on the avsforums.

Good idea?

I know the 37 might be out of reach but worth a look. you can get refurbs for same price as that 32inch and it has true 1080p and more hookups then you can shake a stick at.

I'd listen to avs more than me, but that was another TV I was looking at and ended up going with this Olevia LCD: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16889022049

Changing the source is a pain and SD TV looks like crap on it, but few cheap LCD's have good SDTV

To be completely honest, refurbs just don't sound too appealing to me. I want something "new" But I always wanted one of those... Hmm always willing to keep things in mind tho.

Well I'm really only getting the tv for my Xbox 360 elite.. I don't have cable hooked up in my room anyway. But I did plan on getting HD programming if I get a HDTV... Other than that... the main purpose is just to play xbox...

Just throwing this out there.. Ever thought about getting a WS LCD Monitor to run your 360 instead? Right now I'm searching for one for my PS3 as no small TVs are 1080p, and if they are they cost a lot more than a 1900 x 1200 Monitor.

Some 24" Monitors even have a hdmi input on them, but myself am probably going to get the 24" Samsung 244T ($583 CAD) since it has nice resolution, and one of the new 8 bit panels. In my case I'm going to be getting a hdmi to dvi converter for the monitor and route the sound via optical or RCA.

Sorry if this is way off what you asked, just thought I'd share with you as I'm doing pretty much the same thing, only difference is 360 and PS3!

If you aren't going to use it for TV, and just an Xbox (Does it have HDMI?) then getting a new LCD would be great.

Also imo, there isn't much difference between 720p and 1080p. If you need to make a choice drive out to a nearby store and look around at the models they have.

those 2 I listed are LCD monitors and they still have a 1 year warranty which sadly is standard on alot of them now anyway.

I actually play it on a 22" widescreen.... Doesn't cut it when friends are around.

I can understand that! I play my PS3 on a 40" Sony Bravia XBR3 when I have a bunch of friends over. I am getting a good WS LCD monitor firstly for my PC, but secondly, so I don't tie up the TV when my rents want to watch a movie etc.

Save your money until you have enough for a sick 1080p set.

I am also currently looking at sets, we are fixing to buy about a 37 and a 47.
I am figuring i want LCD TV's with no tuners and 1080P the westinghouse units seem to be the best. I am allset with plasma as we'll have those burned in no time with our dvd menus and xbox 360 menus. Is there really any other better alternative then one of thse LCD tv type monitors for all around use for HD viewing, pc gaming, xbox 360 and dvd's ?
