Looking to take pics and videos of sports with friends and other things.
Low light is not needed, although a plus.
I cant decide between an SLR/DSLR or a cheap 3CCD camera.

I may just end up getting a good camera, witha fast shutter speed and maybe a cheapish lens for it.

How are some of the cameras on newegg for 400-600ish?

What would any of you reccomend?
Thankyou!

If you get a true dlsr it wont be able to do any video. I use a Nikon D200 for my photography. I know it's not in your price range. The D40 however is within your budget. If you do decide to go with Nikon I would suggest to go with a used D50 or D70 as this would allow the use of older (and much cheaper) lenses. Canon Rebels are also very good. The only reason I went with nikon was because i found they were more comfortable for me to work with. Depending on how good of deal you get on your camera, you may be able to pick a second hand minidv or Digital 8 camcorder on the cheap. HDD camcorders seem to be all the rage nowadays
