Whooooppeeeeee!!!!!!

I own a Samsung 226 BW and purchased it awhile ago (4/07?). I have always been happy with the monitor and have no complaints whatsoever.

I have been doing some reading about the 226BW, and I was completely unaware of the difference 'types' of this monitor, based on who actually manufactured it.

After I popped the back panel to check the sticker, it turns out I have the sweet "S" model!! :)

Like I said, I have always been happy with the monitor, but have done ZERO tweaking to it. I hit the auto button to have it autocallibrate once in awhile, and thats it. Im certainly not against improving upon its display if that is possible though....

Since this is an "S" model, is there anything I should/need to do with regards to tweaking it?

Thanks,

The only thing I "had" to do was turn the brightness down...Frying my eyeballs bright.

Then I ran the magic color or whatever it is called that came with the monitor...I helped tighten up the picture even more.

I would give it a try...Couldnt hurt anything that is for sure.

And yeah I totally agree that Sammy is a very nice monitor...And I do not even have the S...Or should I say there is no letter after the serial number.

Got it from NewEgg...No dead pixels...And only a very and I mean very slight bleed on the bottom of the screen.

Try this:

Service Menu:
1. Set both contrast and brightness at zero
2. Press the Menu button
3. Press and hold the Source button for 5 seconds

Even if you have the S in the back your never sure until the Service Menu confirms it.

Sonny, TYVM.

Been there done that allready :)

Its an "S" screen for sure.

Thanks though!

So...I take it that the S screen is good to go right out of the box correct?

Ok, so what steps should/could I take to "tweak" this monitor further?
