well i recently hit a patch of good luck (surprising for me).
-insurance company didnt notice my 2 tickets
-my old beater should last me the winter
-full time job is paying good
-have payed off all debts (owed alot to parents for totalling a car)
so now after i get my Insurance for the year payed (not hard), and pay off my visa (1 more paycheck) im going to save 2 or 3 paychecks and then splurge on a new monitor.
my Acer AL1916W is nice, i have 0 complaints about it for how much i payed how long ago i got it (same price as NOW as when i got it almost 1.5yrs ago)
but i need more real estate. i got a 360 and playing it on 19" just doesnt cut it, and putting it on my 51" LCD HDTV in the livingroom doesnt satisfy my dads need for watching me play madden.
so heres the question:
Dell 30" (2560x1600) about 1500 CDN
Samsung 30" (2560x1600) about 1300 CDN
Westinghouse 42" (1920x1080) about 800 CDN
Dell or any other 24" (1920x1200) about 690 CDN
now, i wont be hardcore into gaming, i just need something i can use for a tv (getting a HDTV box as i already have it in the house, just need another one), something for the 360, PS2, (Dreamcast, Genesis, Gamecube when i want to play some oldies) and something with alot of real estate and the ability to show off to my buddy that i can ALWAYS beat him at having a e-peen :P. he bought a 15" LCD, so i bought a 19" LCD, so he bought a 27" LCDTV, then we both got X-530's, so i recently upgraded to Z-5500's, so he bought a dodge neon, so i made a UFO U2 knock off case, so he got someone else to make him one, so i overclocked the crap outa my comp, so he got me to overclock the crap outa his. and now i must beat him at the monitor. we are both upgrading when native 8cores come out (nehalem iirc) so we would prolly get similar setups anyways so it doesnt matter anymore.
have a 7900GTO, like i said, not gonna push any game to the max on the 30" native res. so its all just a matter of, which is the better deal.
