I have an HP 2007 and it seems on dark screens, there's a cloud of pixels which won't quite go dark enough and only noticeable on dark screens. It's like a 1 1/2in x 3in loosely granulated cloud on the right and center of my screen. It's also noticeable on other color screens. It's more of a gray. I never noticed until lately, the past week after having my monitor a few months. Anyone have a clue what it is? It's not dust, and I'm sure it's digital matter. I'm using an HDMI cable for reference. Should I take advantage of my warranty?
Edit: Ok, I pulled the HDMI out, got all black image, and still, same thing. So that rules out a video card issue. The rest of the screen apparently looks as good as the day I bought it but it's so much more apparent now I've really started noticing it, it's like a blob of gray, burned-in overlayed pixels. I hate to deal with returning things unless I'm sure it's messed up and a manuf. defect, so would just like an opinion. I'm also thinking of getting my money back and buying another model. The picture is really nice after going from an old, cheap, blurry CRT to this. But it's contrast ratio really lacks and makes dark prone movies, like Godfather, look like pixelated crap sometime. Anyone have any monitor recommendations in the $300 range?
Update: As if anyone cares, but still, in case you have this problem. I was told by HP it was a pixel problem, obviously and they'll have a replacement shipped here within two business days, woot!
