Ok I have googled this to no end and I can't find a definitive fix.
Here's the deal,My Nvidia 7300GT works fine with my AOC 17" crt monitor.
now when I connect my Acer 17" lcd I get the input not supported black screen message when Windows XP is loading.Meanwhile the lcd works with the Nvidia 6100 IGP with the same drivers.
All my searches come up with refresh rate changes but I've done all that.
Does anyone know what I can do? I want to game on the lcd with the 7300GT.

It sounds like the monitor is getting a signal that is out of its specification. Try lowering the res to like 800x600 in windows.
Also, try switching the cables around if possible.

he means, or at least I think he does, that while he is booting he gets blank screen but its fine after he gets into windows when he uses the lcd

No it's the opposite.I can view the bios fine but when I boot into windows I get the error.I've also tried many different resolutions to no avail.

Yeah I did that already. No go :(Did you go through the on screen options for the monitor? Also, don't know if you saw it, but did you try switching the two monitor cables between the monitors.

does your gfx card have two display ports if so connect both monitors with the crt as primary and then mess around with the settings till the lcd works then set it as primary and take out the crt. If you dont have two inputs then boot with the crt lower the res to something low like 800x600 @60hz and then switch over to the lcd.

Took a look at the menu options but I don't see anything relevant. Also I havn't tried swapping cables because 1.the crt's cable doesn't come off and 2.The lcd cable works with the onboard video. When I called Acer for support the girl told me my video card must be defective.I really don't know because it works great with my crt.Grrrrr.

Well it has one DVI and one analog but both monitors are analog so I can't do that but I have tried the 800x600 swap already and it just goes black with the error message as usual.

You have a monitor cable like this:

You have to have two of them to have two monitors, they plug into your video card. Switch them.
Your video card looks similar to this:

Try booting into save mode with the monitor that doesn't work, just to see if the video drivers are causing the issue.

Yeah ya know I was just talking to a fellow member ToiletDuck and he told me to try and use the windows drivers first and see.Sure enough it worked. Then I went ahead and installed the latest Nvidia drivers and boom!I got a new gaming monitor! Thanks to all who helped and ToiletDuck for the off duty assistance
