GDM-FW900 users

These things seem to be getting better in price. I want to give one a shot. I have a rather weird question though.

How much heat do yours put out?

The reason I ask is because I have a really old 22" gateway and it puts out a lot of heat. Just curious if you guys have noticed this with your GDM-FW900's.

I dont really notice much heat at all. Its ever so slightly warm when you touch the top of the sloping parts but thats all that I noticed. Also it makes no audible buzzing noises, unless you press your ear against the side, and has no fans inside.

It puts out a decent amount of heat, for example If you put your hand about 8 inches above the back vents you can feel a steady flow of warm air rising. Nothing out of the ordinary for a CRT. My NEC 20WMGX2 LCD puts out a steady flow of heat as well just not as much.

Being most of the remaining FW900's are used the quality on each unit is hit and miss, be sure you buy from somewhere that will allow exchanges or refunds if something happens to be wrong with it. I bougt mine used off ebay in Sept 2005 and have no complaints. Still going strong.
