Yesterday, I purchased an HP W2207 after much debating. I narrowed it down between the HP and the Sammy 226BW, but after seeing the 2 at Bestbuy and comparing them (the sammy was an 'A' panel), it was no contest. Granted, it has the glossy screen, which some don't like, but in my eyes, the choice between the 2 was simple. At work, I have dual HP LP2465's and I much prefer the smaller W2207, althoght the 24's have a better all around viewing angle. All in all, I'm VERY happy with my decision!! The screen is gorgeous!

I was thinking about buying the HP 22 inch because I heard its the best 22" lcd monitor with a tn panel! Though I decided against to because HP LCD monitors only come with 1 year warranty. Don't get me wrong though I am sure your 22" HP monitor is really great because some companys makes some really great lcd monitors even with tn panels! I think this monitor is one of the top lcd monitors for a pc because its not as expensive as 24" lcds and its right in the sweet spot with size! I think your right though that 24" is way to big for a pc monitor and 22" is more of the sweet spot. Sadly NEC doesn't make a 22" but I think I am happy enough with 20" because it seems a lot larger than my 19" CRT monitor, which is like a 18" lcd but of course its not a lcd its just only gives you 18" viewable space. I think the reason even just stepping up, it seems only a little, seems like its so much bigger because most CRTs were never wide screen. Wide screen really seems to really make a huge difference even if the lcd monitor doesn't give a whole lot more space compared to your older CRT!
