***Buying a new $500-800 TV***

So since my mom is taking the current 720p LCD we have, my dad wants to buy a new one.

We have a 32" Panasonic LCD 720p (That takes 1080i) currently.
Online or store is fine.

MIR is fine, so is refurb.

MIR do count, I'm looking at this 37" Olevia right now.

My dad says he's willing to spend a grand if I plop down $300 of my own money, so I figure I can take the hit. 1080p is my new goal.

That was my old TV, it had a 3000:1 contrast which I have no idea how it pulled off and was wondering if jumping down to 1000:1 would have a large impact.

I'm currently looking into http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16824112174
$940 total after Mail In Rebate and the Westinghouse, which I might need a Costco card for...

It seems I have a little more time on my hands!

if you have amex you dont have to pay the no costco card extra price if you dont have it then it's only 40 more bucks added on to the order.

Hah thanks, but looks like I'm back to 720p, since I went to Best Buy today, I seriously can't tell crap difference besides's Sony's 50" 1080p Blu-Ray demo. (Which had a stuck green pixel in the middle)

It's not worth me shelling out the extra cash IMO.
