Incase this would be useful to anybody, or to archive somewhere for reference here.
I have a 19" CRT at home, some Dell Trinitron probably made by Sony. My friend found it by a dumpster several months to a year ago, and let me use it. It's been working great until tonight, all of a sudden it was very blurry, no matter what resolution or refresh I set it to. Even in StarCraft it looked blurry.
I tried degaussing, didn't help one bit.
My last resort was to fully power cycle it. I shut it off, unplugged it from the power, then held down the power button to dissipate any charge left in the capacitor. After a few minutes I plugged it back in and powered on.
Success! Super sharp again!
