For a long time I've been a fan of large trinitron CRTs. But now BOTH my Dell P1130 screens have gone tits up at the same time so I need to get some new monitors - the problem is I've never bought a TFT before so I need some advice. I'll be looking for either 20" or 22" ones.

Tell me about its effects... Does it mean I'll have to have the hardware to run all my games in 1900x1200?
Dead pixels
I can't stand the thought of them. How can I avoid them? Is there a manufacturer who is particularly good with their policy on them?
Size
I've currently got 2x 21" CRTs, would a 20" TFT be equivalent to this?
What brand should I get?
