Is the power supply internal (in the monitor) or external?

If its external, look at the power supply and read how many volts its needs and how many amps or watts.

its internal...its not unlike a regular puter powers supply...the connector is different. I've been trying to find a place that sells Monitor parts online, but i can't seem to find a good one...

A computers power supply is internal.

What external means is that there is a small box attached to the power cable which converts the AC current to a suitable one that the monitor uses.

Does the monitor have a box on the power cable? If not, the power supply is internal.

I think you mean is external and it uses a circular connector?

no, i said what i ment, but i don't belive i said it clearly :)
I had to take the monitor apart to get at the power supply so it is definitaly internal. It uses a small cable like you would find in a computer to attach the power supply to the mainboard, but it's a different cable. I thought maybe power supplys in these monitors followed some general pattern, and would be as easy to find as, it would be to purchase one for a computer. Guess i'll have to keep looking. i'll post some pic's for S**** and giggles for ya...lol
