Thinking of getting a new 22in LCD to go with my 19in Samsung CRT just not sure which to get. I have never owned a LCD before but have had very good luck with View Sonic and Samsung CRT’s
Here is what I have been looking at:
Acer: AL2223Wd

View Sonic - X Series VX2235WM
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16824116059
Or this Viewsonic

Samsung – 225BW

I would like to stay at about a 22 in because vertical height of the screen is almost the exact same as my 19in CRT (about 12in)
Which one of these screens would you choose and are there any others brands or models I should consider?
Thanks for the help

all of those 22" monitors use the same panel by chi mei, well the samsung may not im not sure if samsung makes their own 22" panels, so the only difference is the inputs/outputs, firmware, backlight, and bezel used. I personally would get the 22" sceptre from costco. It has good inputs, such as hdmi, and IMHO the best bezel as it is the smallest one out there also as its biggest plus costco has the best stock warranty in the world.
costco sceptre link (http://www.costco.com/Browse/Product.aspx?Prodid=11169064&whse=BC&topnav=&browse=)
however if you dont buy from costco aviod this monitor as sceptre sucks when it comes to warranties and customer support.

If you must buy a 22inch, look at the Samsung 226W or the new LG 22inch. Make sure its the WA and not the WT model.

Is there a specific problem with the WT model? I thought the WA was the same thing just with an HDMI port.

I just got a 226BW tonight and I'm impressed with it. There are no dead pixels that I can find, though there is minor backlight bleed. Movies look wonderful, games are great. pictures look crystal clear. I have 2 computers hooked to it, one with DVI and the other with VGA, and both of them look perfect. I really can't tell a difference between them. Unless you need absolutely zero backlight bleed, go for a Samsung 226BW.

My dad just bought the View Sonic - X Series VX2235WM, and I had a chance to play around with it last night, and I am now thinking about getting one as well. I tried out UT2004 and CS:S at full resolution 1600 x 1050 and it was incredible, I would highly recommend it. Compared to my 19" View Sonic VX922, it is the same height, but obviously it is wider, and I would say performance wise they are on par with each other.

I also have a 226BW, got it from Circuit City for $360 with free shipping! It's awesome - absolutely no ghosting or lag, games and video look great. Very, very little backlight bleed. I would buy another one of these again or recommend one to anyone.
Is there a problem with this one?

No, but you should go somewhere that you can look at the monitors side by side. From my perspective the Samsung's look much better than the LG's
well most places do not carry the Samsung 226BW 22-inch LCD Monitor yet.
Is the 226 gonna be that much better than the 225? I did notice quite a difference in contrast, response time is claimed to be 2ms and 300cd. But it does drop from 170/160 to 160/160 degree viewable.
Forgot to mention that the sceptre X22-wg looks pretty good on paper too.
