I have a 19" CRT monitor that displays great except for a uniform tint across the entire screen when powered. The Command Prompt area that should be black looks a tint of green.

I have already tried swapping out the VGA cable for another and even tried different graphics cards without finding a solution to the problem.

What may correct the problem?

The monitor is a KDS Avitron AV-195TF ( http://www.kdsusa.com/ProductDetails.asp?prod=168 )

The only controls that seem available from the OSD seem to be auto adjust, brightness, contrast, and degauss (the official specs have listed more controls).

I am guessing the monitor uses a NEC tube.

EDIT: I have run the file member to attached archive (video file with flashing red, green, and blue frames) and am able to see red green and blue.

If you can't adjust the color/etc in the OSD then you may be screwed. I'm guessing one of the guns are going out, causing the tint. I've seen quite a few monitors go purple/red tint. We just had to toss them out. You may just be SOL unless you know how to take the monitor apart to adjust the color, but even then if the gun went out then there's nothing you can do.

I have seen other moitors that have such menus that usually are accessible after some combination of the buttons and/or power switch. I have tried many different key combinations but am unable to figure out how to access the secret menu(s) if it(they) exist.

If one of the guns goes out, I would think I I should not be able to see red, green, and blue projected.

When using an ICM color profile to set the green gama component to zero, most (but not all) the green on the projected area appears almost appears neutralized. The area about the projected image still appears to have the same amount of green tint.
