Ok I have the AuzenTech Xplosion hooked to my Philips FR-965 via the TOSlink. I have it set for Dobly Digital and can not get the back speakers to work. If I set it to DTS I get no sound what so ever. I want to upconvert my sound from games, mp3, tv coming from my D10 to 5.1. Reason I went with this card is so I was able to do it, but I can not get it to work right.

somewhere inside the driver/audio card's software/program, you'll have to enable Dobly Digital Live in order to make the in-game sound into 5.1 Dobly Digital.

Right now it's not working for games, mp3 or movies. I set it up for DD in the sound card settings.

have you make sure you've set the audio output to SPDIF out? or something like straight pass-through?
Download AC3Filter and set it up for 5.1 output. You can set DTS, AC3, MPEG2, etc. to SPDIF so that it does not get transcoded.

Yea SPDIF is enabled. If I remember right I tried straight pass-through with no luck.

Got the AC3Filter, just need my new video card so I can see what I'm doing.

hmmmm...... I'm sorry but I really couldn't think of what's wrong.....
I've never use those card, but onboard HD audio. all I did was just enable DDLive in the audio driver/software, and tell it use straight pass-thru. (I do remember, if you are using purevideo decoder, you'll need to set pass-thru within the purevideo decoder too!) got all my sounds from my stereo system.
p.s. oh, just in case, did you set up the audio to HD audio instead of AC97 in the bios?? I know quite a few mobo has this audio setting in the bios!

On board audio was disabled before I even installed XP. For some odd reason altely purevideo will not start up with GB PVR. I have it set to use purevideo audio and video yet it opens with FFDShow.

just play any mpeag2 video file with any video player and you can adjust purevideo's setting from the systray. have it set to via SPDIF. also, from FFDShow, make sure you choose the nvidia decoder for video and I think you can just choose Direct3D for audio.

Thats just it purevideo isn't opening. Only icons I have in system tray when watchnig a movie is ffdshow. Saturday purevideo worked everytime then Sunday ffdshow took over.
I had to use this (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=DE1491AC-0AB6-4990-943D-627E6ADE9FCB&displaylang=en) to set the Nvidia decoder to the preferred decoder to be able to use it.

try to turn off FFDShow, so you can at least make sure you've set the purevideo decoder right first.

How do you turn off ffdshow?
Go to the audio/video configurations and disable it for MPEG2, AC3, DTS, and MPEG audio (probably listed as MPA2 - I'm not home so don't remember).

Just did that with no luck. I have PureVideo install and set as video and audio in GB PVR yet ffdshow keeps kicking in.
What are you playing, exactly?

Was trying to watch Tokyo Drift. However it does it with any movie or tv recording I try an watch.
Well, PureVideo is only going to decode true ISO MPEG-1/2 formats. I don't know what format GB-PVR records in, but DVDs should be picked up. Might need to uninstall FFDSHOW in order to get PureVideo properly set, then reinstall FFDSHOW and manually set the formats it is responsible for instead of accepting the defaults.

Ok I guess I can try that. As said before up til last weekend it was working fine.

in FFDShow's configuration, you normal set raw output to all or something like that (iirc), turn that off will turn off FFDShow since it will not pick up any video file.

Ok I'll try that once I reinstall ffdshow. I tried right after I uninstalled ffdshow and did a restart and then divx kicked in instead of purevideo. I hope I get this fixed before I get my DLP in the next two weeks.
